The next step Humanity took was into the Ancient era, a time of competition, wealth, status, and power. Although this was seen in late times of the Neolithic era, on thing was different, now it was competition between Homo-Sapiens and Homo-Sapiens. The difference now is we can confirm these events happened due to one simple technology. Writing, separated the civilized from the uncivilized, otherwise known as barbarians. The Mesopotamias, who lived about 3,500 years ago, took their civilized ways very seriously. They even were the on of the first to write about an epic of man who transformed from an animal, who lived and ate with nature, to a Man, who wore cloths and drank beer. Regardless if you believe wearing cloths and drinking beer makes you a civilized human, we can all agree that writing transformed Homo-Sapiens into the superior being.

In this Neolithic era one advancement stood out from the rest. Agriculture began to spread rather rapidly across all Homo-Sapiens, ultimately halting the need to be nomadic people. This revolutionary advancement helped the Homo-Sapiens out compete the other living species of humans. This made me ask the question of how. Did other species wonder across Homo-Sapiens land of agriculture and they then became protective of their land either scaring away the enemy or killing them for trespassing? Why couldn't these other species learn our ways of agriculture? Other than asking how are why, should we focus on how property could have easily been the worst inventions Homo-Sapiens have ever created? After reading Nissa's Story and understanding how they acknowledge how woman, child, and men all had equally important roles for the whole community could be a better way to live than that's mine and this is yours kind of view we live in today. After reading Nissa's story I believe their lifestyle is more satisfactory for the whole community than the way Homo-Sapiens live here. Although, we can not fully confirm this is how Humans lived in the Neolithic era because this took place about 12,000 years ago and their is no written records from this time, only controversial paintings.

Chapter one focuses on the paleolithic era, or otherwise known as the old stone age. This nickname was given to this time period that took place around 200,000 years ago, because these early Homo-Sapiens invented the fist type of basic tools. This really makes me step back and look at all the amazing technologies that i take for granted everyday. Some being as simple as communication or even writing. These basic tools were barley invented or not even a thought such as writing down historical events. During this era early migration out of Africa took place and paved the way for the next era.
