In about 500 AD, the beginning of the classical era, began the competition of between civilizations, development of seminal thinkers, and most importantly the development of complex Empires. The difference now was that these empires started to become cosmopolitan, meaning that the people entering were allowed to keep their differences, such as cultural and religious views. The pros of these empires would include facilitating trade throughout, sharing of technology and advancements, and even protection from other empires. Due to the immense amount of pros and lack of cons convinced many people and smaller civilizations to enter empires ultimately forming these giant empires, such as the great Persian empire.
